Physical disability does not affect the intellectual capacity of a person. However, it helps to understand their physical limitations, as you would then be able to employ them in a manner that makes best use of their other attributes.

 

Amputation

Surgical removal of a limb or part therein.

Paraparesis

Partial paralysis affecting the lower limbs.

Paraplegia

Paralysis of the lower half of the body with involvement of both legs.

Hemiplegia

Total or partial paralysis of one side of the body.

Poliomyelitis

An acute infectious viral disease in which the spinal cord becomes inflamed, often resulting in paralysis.

Cerebral Palsy

 A disability resulting from damage to the brain before, during, or shortly after birth. Outwardly manifested by muscular in-coordination and speech disturbances.

Muscular Dystrophy

Hereditary disease characterized by progressive wasting of muscles.

Muscular Atrophy

Disease of the spinal cord usually characterized by weakness of the muscles in the hands, arms and shoulders.

Others

Other physical disabilities including Spinal Bifida, Marfan Syndrome etc.
